About this Project
Regis University, in conjunction with Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education, Kansas State University, Kapi'olani Community College, and SCT participated in a three-year Learning Anytime, Anywhere Partnership (LAAP) project: Beyond the Administrative Core: Creating Web-based Student Services for Online Learners.

The goal for this project was to use Internet-based technology to improve non-core student services. With each institution addressing a different aspect of student services, Regis University focused on getting students through the application process and directly into academic advising.

As a part of integrating Internet-based technologies with student services, Regis began to research the growing trend of electronic portfolio use at higher education institutions. The purpose of this research was to:

  1. learn about the various functions and benefits of electronic portfolio use
  2. compare and contrast the features of e-portfolio products currently provided by commercial vendors and software developers
  3. determine what e-portfolio features would be most beneficial for Regis faculty, students and staff, and
  4. make a recommendation as to what e-portfolio product would best meet the needs of Regis University.

This information is highlighted in the following web site as a way to educate and inform individuals who may be interested in implementing electronic portfolios at their own institution.
