The final services included:
information resource in Regis system for direct access by student (pull),
e-mail based system for students notifying them of the current status of their
application file (push),
capability for setting advising appointments,
connection with library resources.
A word about "push" and "pull" technologies. Push is one in which the system activated communication at identified stages of the process. Pull is when the student activates the system communication, seeking information.

Regis purchased a server specifically for this purpose. While internal systems for all these processes existed, they were paper-based and relied on phone conversations to transmit information.
Using the existing Regis student database system, Colleague by Datatel, our administrative and ITS personnel worked closely together to create "tracks" which would be assigned to each student. As certain requirements were fulfilled, it would move the student further along the process. An email is automatically generated and sent to the student at identified stages.
In addition to these "pushed" information systems, we also created a "pull" environment where applicants could go to WebAdvisor, which is a Datatel component and a part of the regis.edu site. Here they can check to see what elements of their application have arrived at the University.
Here are Flash based models to view the systems we created.
File Status Check: Students are notified about the status of their admission file, specifically what paperwork has been received by the University. They can also access the WebAdvisor system for viewing their records.
Appointment Setting: Example of an email informing students of their completed application and the need to set an appointment with their advisor.
Accessing Regis Library Resources: View how students are informed of their Regis Library account number and how to access library services.
