Study Abroad in Brazil

All right I'm interested!  How do I get on board?

The Brazilian student exchange program sends serious students to learn first hand about Brazilian culture and environments.  The program is organized by Environmental Studies and those majors get first priority (there are a limited number of slots), but students with good grades from any department may participate.

You will need a year of Portuguese, junior or senior standing, and preferably some experience in environmental science.  You’ll study under the arrangements we have made with two universities: the prestigious Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) in central Brazil, and Universidade Federal de Alagoas (UFAL) on the tourist coast of northern Brazil.  Once there, you will get an intensive 6 week Portuguese class and then a suite of regular classes that count for full credit back in the US.
