University of Colorado at Boulder

In collaboration with the I Have a Dream Foundation and the University of Colorado's Institute for Ethical and Civic Engagement, Americorps*VISTA member Nicole Short followed 1st Year VISTA, Janel Chin's footsteps to oversee a Public Achievement program at Centaurus High School in Lafayette, CO. Nicole also supports Centaurus High School's PeaceJam and credit recovery programs, as well as coordinates campus visitation programs for local secondary students.

Nicole Short works with Peter Simons and the Institute for Ethical and Civic Engagement at the University of Colorado at Boulder.  As an Americorps Vista member, Nicole is working with the I Have A Dream Foundation to further a Public Achievement program with the Pioneer Dreamers at Centaurus High School in Lafayette, CO.  Further, Nicole works with the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) seniors at Centaurus in furthering their Public Achievement program.    Nicole has also spearheaded a Life Skills/College Prep workshop series at Horizons Alternative High School in Lafayette.

Nicole Short holds a Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, CA.  Nicole serves the Boulder Valley School District and looks forward to expanding civic education in Lafayette, as well as the mountain communities of Boulder County.

 

A University of Colorado Law School graduate, Janel Chin has recently been admitted to the Colorado Bar Association. As an AmeriCorps*VISTA Member with the University of Colorado's Institute for Ethical and Civic Engagement, Janel primarily serves the Lafayette community, where she has recently developed civic education programs at Centaurus High School.
