With support from Regis
University's Peace and Justice Studies program,
AmeriCorps*VISTA member Ruthie Jones oversees a Public
Achievement program at East High School as part of an
African-American Studies course. In addition, Ruthie
supports East High School's PeaceJam program, and is
currently developing a school-wide tutoring program,
scheduled to begin fall 2008.
Ruthie
Jones, who currently supports
programming at East High School as part of
Regis University's Peace and Justice Studies
program, received her BA in Urban Justice
with an Emphasis in Black Studies from
Colorado College in Colorado Springs,
CO. After she completes her
AmeriCorps*VISTA term of service, Ruthie
plans to earn her master's degree in Social
Work at the University of Denver.
