"To seek joy in the saddest of places.  To pursue beauty to its lair.
To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never forget." ~Arundhati Roy.

Lauren Alweis
Administrative Assistant, Colorado Campus
Compact

Lauren has recently joined us from Juneau, Alaska  where she was not  only a commercial fisher woman but the Regional Director for the Amachi program at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska as well as an AmeriCorps*VISTA Leader.

Lauren graduated from The University of Colorado at Boulder with a BA in Communication. She then served as an ESL Instructor and Department of Youth Development Volunteer in Bangladesh with what the locals called the 'Peach Corpse.'

When not in the office, she enjoys volunteering for the Breckenridge  Outdoor Education Center's adaptive ski programs and spending time at a neighborhood woman's shelter, The Dolores Project. She is almost as excited to join the world of Campus Compact as she is to be back home in sunny Colorado.
