Stephanie Schooley is AmeriCorps
Director for the UCAN Serve Education
Award program sponsored by Colorado Campus
Compact. UCAN Serve operates through
affiliations with thirty-seven colleges and
universities in the Intermountain West
region serving Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and
New Mexico. The UCAN Serve AmeriCorps
program is currently the largest education
award only, higher education program funded
through the Corporation for National and
Community Service in the country.
Prior to this work with Colorado Campus
Compact, Stephanie served as an
AmeriCorps*VISTA in Denver, CO for a
community-based literacy program focusing on
strengthening academic performance of public
school children through meaningful
community, school, and family partnerships.
Beyond VISTA, Stephanie worked for Denver
Public Schools as a 1st and 2nd grade
reading tutor in a Title I elementary school
as part of the Success for All program, and
participated with the school’s redesign
process through the Collaborative Decision
Making Team. Most recently, Stephanie was a founding board member
for the
Young Nonprofit Professionals Network Denver
and National organizations,
bridging the nonprofit community
by engaging and supporting young nonprofit
and community leaders in professional
development, networking and social
opportunities.
Stephanie received her Master's degree in
Conflict Resolution from the University
of Denver, Graduate School of International
Studies, and completed her undergraduate
degree in History from Reed College in
Portland, OR.
