Elaina Verveer has extensive experience
in the fields of youth leadership, program
and curriculum development, and civic
education. Prior to joining the
Colorado Campus Compact staff in June 2007,
Elaina served as the Director of Naropa
University’s Community Studies Center; the
Program Director of Project YES, a
Lafayette-based nonprofit dedicated to youth
empowerment; and the Publications Specialist
at the Corporation for National and
Community Service in Washington, D.C.
Elaina also has international experience,
as she served as Special Assistant to the
Ambassador at the U.S. Embassy in France,
designing and implementing bilateral
initiatives with French and American
businesses, museums, and municipalities. In
addition to directing Colorado Campus
Compact’s ACCESS Colorado program, Elaina
currently teaches civic engagement and
service-learning courses at Naropa
University and at the University of Colorado
at Boulder. Actively involved in the
Boulder County community, Elaina also
advises several non-profit agencies as well
as oversees the Lafayette Youth Advisory
Committee, which invites youth to
collaborate with local officials to
positively impact the Lafayette community
and elevate youth voice.
Elaina received her master’s degree in
Instruction and Curriculum from the
University of Colorado at Boulder.
