PRINTER INSTRUCTIONS:

EPSON 4800

Load your paper. Most standard weight 8.5x11 papers will feed from the paper tray with no problem. Larger papers will need to be manually loaded either from the top or back of the printer. Once paper is successfully loaded and digital readout says "Ready"....

Open image in Photoshop and check your Image Size.

Go to "Page Setup" to insure that you have the correct orientation and paper source. Also check to make sure the computer is sending the image to the correct printer.

If the paper you are using is not listed as one of the preset paper sizes, choose "User Defined".

Click "Print". If your paper is larger than 8.5x11, you will probably get an error message stating that your image is too large for the paper and that some clipping will occur. Click "OK" to bypass this message. You will be able to set the correct paper size in the next step.

On the right side of the printer window that comes up, select "Let Photoshop determine color" from the "Color Handling" menu. Select the type of paper you will be printing on in the "Printer Profiles" menu. On the left side of the box, click the "Page Setup" button to bring up the print menu.

There is a row of tabs across the top of this menu. Under "Main", in the "Media" menu, select that paper that most closely matches the paper you will be printing on. Choose "Custom" for your print quality. This will bring up a button that says "Advanced". Under the Advanced settings, turn off "High Speed" and turn on "Finest Detail". Turn "Printer Color Management" off. Click OK.

Under the "Paper" tab, set your paper size. If your paper is an unlisted size, click "User Defined". This will bring up a dialog box where you can type in your paper size. These measurements are in 100th of inches, so 24 inch wide paper would be 2400. At the bottom of this page, check the box for "Centered".

Click "OK" to accept these settings and click "Print" to print the image. A window will come up where you can verify that you are printing to the correct printer. Next a message will come up about postscript settings. Click OK to bypass this window. Finally, another preview window will come up. Don't worry if your color looks a bit off in this preview. Verify that your image orientation is correct on the paper, then click "Print".
